20 ways to increase laptop battery life

Mobile computing has got better with lighter components, better chips and faster processors. But the Achilles heel of a laptop has remained its battery. So here are we are going to look at ways to increase laptop battery life.
Modern graphic intensive operating systems and resource hungry applications are cutting down the life of your laptop’s battery every day. The average battery life per continuous use still stands at a maximum of three to four hours. So, a fast depleting battery could very swiftly put the crutches on your ‘mobile’ road trip.
Falling just short of carrying an extra pack of batteries in the back-pack, are several ways to keep the juice flowing through the batteries.

1. Ship shape with a defrag

Regular defragmentation helps to arrange data more efficiently thus making the hard drive work less to access the data. The quicker the moving hard drive works lesser is the load placed on the battery. Thus, your batter can last longer. The effect is minimal, but this efficiency goes hand in glove with hard drive maintenance.

2. Kill the resource gobblers

End the background processes that are not vital. Monitor the resource usage through a ‘Ctrl-Alt-Del’ which brings up the Windows Task Manager (in Windows). If you’re not on the internet, it is safe to shut down the immediate non-essential programs running in the taskbar like the antivirus and the firewall. Weed out unnecessary programs running as start-ups by launching the System Configuration Utility from Run – Msconfig – Tab: Startup. Uncheck the programs which you don’t want to launch and reboot the computer once.

3. Pause the scheduled tasks

It may be a defrag or a virus scan, but make sure it is scheduled for a time when you are near a power outlet. If not then nix them for the moment.

4. Unplug external devices

USB devices are the biggest drainers of battery power. Unplug all external devices like an external mouse, PC cards, Wi-Fi, external speakers, Bluetooth and even an attached iPod.

5. Empty the CD/DVD Drives

Even if you don’t intend to use it, don’t leave any CD/DVDs as leftovers in the drives. A spinning drive sucks battery power like a sponge.

6. Go local

Desist using the DVD/external drives while running on batteries. Shift the content to the hard drive or run using (free) virtual drives like Pismo File Mount or even Microsoft’s Virtual CD ROM Control Panel.

7. Lower the lights

The LCD screen of a laptop is another huge power sink. Calibrate the brightness to the lowest level you can tolerate using the Function key toggles or using the Display Settings applet in the Control Panel.

8. Kill the sounds

Mute the speakers and try avoiding the use of multimedia software to maximize the battery life. Installed sound schemes also drain a battery perceptibly.

9. Rid the screensaver

To maximize battery life by a little, switch off the screensaver.

10. Visit Power Options

Get familiar with power management through the ‘Power Options’ applet in the Control Panel. Both XP and Vista come with advanced power management features which shut off components like the monitor and/or the hard drive after specified intervals. This again depends on the chosen ‘Power Schemes’ (for XP) in the same applet. For instance in XP, ‘Max Battery’ under Power Schemes can be selected for maximum battery optimization.

Similar settings can be found under ‘Mobile PC’ in the Control Panel of Vista.

11. Turn off the looks

Today’s OS’s like Windows Vista come with features like ‘Aero Glass’ which are resource guzzlers. One can turn it off and go for the ‘Classic’ appearance which consumes less power. In Vista, click on Desktop – Preferences – View Colour – Appearance – Classic Appearance and Windows Basic graphical interface. In XP it’s – Display Properties – Theme – Windows Classic.
Linux and even Macintosh are better optimized for longer battery life.

12. Hibernate is better than Sleep

In the Stand By mode (or sleep mode), the computer turns of the hard drive and the display but memory remains active while the CPU slows down. This draws on the battery. In contrast, hibernation mode is better because the computer saves the current state and shuts itself down completely thus saving power.

13. Get the most…work on the least

Working on too many programs while on the battery is a sure fire power drainer. Keep use of graphic intensive applications to a minimum. Working on a spreadsheet consumes much less than playing your favourite game. To increase the life of the battery open just one or two programs concurrently.

14. Ram in more RAM

Adequate RAM reduces the load on Virtual memory which by default resides on the hard drive. Though every extra bit of RAM uses up more power, it increases overall savings by short cutting access to the power hungry hard drive.

15. Keep it clean

A laptop with blocked air vents will generate more heat thus reducing the life of the battery. Clean the air vents regularly to keep operating temperatures low. Allow for open space around the vents for air to circulate freely. Keep the area around the laptop clean to avoid entry of dust.

16. Temperature is a silent killer

Undue heat kills off a battery slowly but surely. Avoid leaving the laptop under direct sunlight or inside a closed car.

17. Avoid the memory effect

A problem more for the older Ni-MH batteries than for Li-Ion batteries on which most modern laptops run. Memory effect relates to the loss of battery charge when they are repeatedly recharged after being only partially discharged. It can be prevented by discharging the battery fully and then completely recharging it. Li-Ion batteries on the other hand have no problems with partial discharges and re-charges and complete discharge is never recommended for this type.

18. Update software and drivers

This sounds a bit incongruous but then newer drivers and software are often designed to be more efficient (and hopefully less resource hungry).

19. Use the right adapter

Ensure that the adapter you use to charge the laptop battery is an original one or one with the correct specifications. A mismatch in the wattage could cause an overload thus damaging the laptop and the battery.

20. Pack it up

If you don’t plan to use the laptop on batteries for quite some time, ensure that the charge is nearly 40 percent – remove the batteries and store it in a cool place.
A typical lithium ion battery has an overall average life of 2-3 years. With some care and caution, its mortality can be delayed.

FireFox vs Google chrome which to use?

I've been a huge fan of Firefox for years (prompted in great part by Lifehacker's recommendation), but it seems like Google Chrome has made huge strides lately. My question: Which is better, Chrome or Firefox? Which should I use?

Dear Uncertain,Yours is a question we've been hearing more and more lately, and with good reason. The fact is, Google Chrome has fixed a lot of problems with Firefox that most Firefox users didn't even know they had, and Firefox is still working to catch up. (Restart-free extension installation, isolated processes that keep one bad tab from crashing the entire browser, etc.) As a result, Chrome's smart feature set has been winning over a lot of Firefox die-hards.
The answer to your question depends a lot on what operating system you're using, so we'll separate our answers for Windows and Mac users.
Which Should I Use on Windows: Firefox or Chrome?
There's no short answer to this question, really, since neither browser is clearly better, so instead of a straight out "Use X" recommendation, let's consider the pros and cons of each.
First, in our regular web browser performance tests, Chrome has regularly beaten up the competition or come in a very close second in most categories, while Firefox rarely leads the way. That might seem like a pretty big deal, but most browsers actually perform really well these days, so the fact that Chrome beats Firefox in most of our performance tests doesn't mean Firefox is extremely slow—it just means that compared to Chrome, it's not the fastest.

But that brings us to another important point: Bloat. Despite the fact that Firefox generally does pretty well on memory use tests (strangely enough, it regularly wins that test in our browser performance tests), a lot of Firefox users are increasingly frustrated with slow-downs caused by what they see as browser bloat. It's not at all uncommon to see a Firefox installation eating up more than any running application on your system, and while the memory consumption itself isn't that big of a deal (Chrome eats a lot of memory, too), the high memory usage is often accompanied by serious browser slowdowns, which is a very big problem, and one that, anecdotally, at least, we hear from tons of Firefox users and very few Chrome users. (Presently company included.)
So what keeps Firefox users coming back despite Chrome outperforming it on Windows by most accounts? One of the biggest issues is extensions. Firefox's extension ecosystem has long been a selling point of the popular open-source browser, and if there's anything you wish your browser did differently, chances are there's a Firefox extension to address it.
Chrome has its own flourishing extension gallery, and while it doesn't have close to the extension support that Firefox does, every day more and more really popular extension functionality makes its way to Chrome. Want to sync Chrome up with your existing Firefox bookmarks? You can use Xmarks for that. (Or you can use Chrome's built-in bookmark sync tools if you prefer, though this editor still dearly misses keyword bookmarks in Chrome, despite the workaround.) Want to securely sync and automatically fill your passwords? The LastPass extension, which we recently raved about, can handle that at more. Even the must-have for web developers, Firebug, has made its way to Chrome in a very functional lite version.
If you use a ton of Firefox extensions—especially some more obscure ones—chances are you may not be able to find replacements for everything in Chrome. But if you only use a few of the more popular Firefox extensions, odds are very good that you could transition to Chrome without noticing a difference.
On the other hand, a lot of people shy away from Chrome specifically because of its affiliation with Google. Those who believe Google already has enough of your personal information might prefer to stick with Firefox just to temper the growing piles of information Google has collected about you, anonymously or not.
The Answer:
At the end of the day, both Chrome and Firefox are excellent web browsers for Windows, and you can't go wrong with either. From our perspective, more and more power users seem to be swapping happily to Chrome from Firefox (several Lifehacker editors have made this switch and haven't looked back), and their switch has been spurred mostly by the bloat issues mentioned above. If you've been frustrated with Firefox, we'd recommend kicking the tires and Chrome to see how you like it; you can always switch back if you decide your heart lies with Firefox.
If, on the other hand, you're perfectly happy with Firefox, we don't see any reason to upset a good thing. (If it ain't broke and all that.)
Which Should I Use on My Mac: Firefox or Chrome?
The answer to this question is very different from the one above, but luckily it's much shorter. If you read the Windows section (and you should, because a lot of it still applies), you know that Chrome has a lot of great things going for it. Chrome is snappy on OS X, the same extensions that work for Chrome on Windows work in OS X, it isolates processes so that one crashed tab won't bring down your browser, and so on.
Unfortunately, in our experience, Chrome for OS X is still much too young for full-time adoption. Remember, Chrome for Mac launched quite awhile after the Windows version and has been around much less than a year overall. Like Chrome on Windows, it shows a whole lot of promise, but it's also prone to the occasional non-responsiveness and other bugginess that we aren't used to and probably shouldn't be seeing from a prime-time browser.
While we'd love to say you should give it a try full-time if you're not happy with Firefox on your Mac, we can say from experience that it's probably not ready for you to do that.
We get a little long-winded when we start talking about web browsers, so our apologies for the length of our reply. Hope that helps, though!

I’ve tested each of these programs, and as far as I can tell they are perfectly safe and very fun methods to prank your friends this April Fools.
Change Your Voice for a Funny Phone Call
Have you ever considered calling a friend and pretending to be an IRS agent or maybe a long lost relative? Maybe you would like to tell your friend that an unknown uncle died and left them millions? Your friend would easily recognize your voice. So, the best option is to use free voice changing software, and then dial out using your computer and your favorite VoIP application. Never fear! The perfect free voice-changing application is here, and it’s called Screaming Bee MorphVOX Junior.
This software is very fast and easy to set up. It sits between your microphone and any application you use and morphs your voice in whatever way you configure it to. The free version allows you to use an alternative male or female voice, or for a funny alternative, you can raise the level of your voice to sound like a tiny person! Another fun feature is the fact that you can click and insert sound effects into the call, such as a cuckoo clock, a drum roll (like after telling a joke), an alarm clock or a screeching sound.
Strange Windows Errors
If you share a computer with a friend or with family members, and you really want to play a funny joke on other people who use the computer often, you can install the little Dr. Windows app offered by DonationCoder. This application gets installed into the apps menu, and appears as just a small antivirus application called “Dr. Windows.” In reality, it’s counting down the minutes to when it delivers one of the strange error messages that you’ve set up.
Once you install the application, it appears in the system tray as a very small anti-virus application. Any user who isn’t very tech savvy should completely ignore it. When you first install it, right click on the icon and click on Options.
Make sure to enable “Hide Options” so that when the user right clicks on the icon, nothing will happen. The only way to enter settings is to hold down the Ctrl key while right-clicking. The software comes with about 50 random Windows error messages that pup up either when you trigger them with the hotkey combination, or at a set interval that you enter.
The messages are fairly random and all pretty funny. If you have anyone using the computer who is just completely non tech-savvy at all, these will really throw them for a loop. Just sit back and watch them panic and pull out their hair in frustration…just try not to snicker too loudly!
Install a Small Fake Virus
We certainly spend a lot of time here at MakeUseOf focused on helping people avoid or get rid of viruses, adware and spyware on their computer. However, in the spirit of April 1st, I’d like to propose a safe and very funny application called Lappet. Lappet is a completely safe and very funny fake computer virus that will inflict terror into the heart of just about any computer user who doesn’t know any better.
The reason I write that it would scare anyone who doesn’t know any better is because most of the savvy MUO readers would instantly recognize the progress bar as a very non-standard Windows app (what’s up with that horrid green color). But I’m sure many of you know someone who would completely fall for it.
Once the hard drive is “erased,” Windows crashes. Mind you – the app takes a screenshot and uses it as the background so that it appears the entire computer froze. The user may try clicking around, but almost nothing will work (there is the secret of simply pressing the “up” key to escape though).
Finally, the very last window reveals the truth – that the entire episode was just a funny gag. The application doesn’t require any kind of install, it’s just an executable, so you can deliver it to your friend in whatever format works best – an email, a download from your website or blog or anything else that gets them to run it.
Install a Very Scary Fake Computer Virus
Another great computer prank you can use on your friends this April 1st is a full scale computer virus, packaged up as a promotion for real antivirus software. It’s actually a somewhat realistic fake virus called Ultimate, which first asks if you really want to delete the Windows folder (it doesn’t matter what the user clicks, or whether they even click anything at all!)
Before you know it, the next screen comes up that shows sections of Windows Explorer literally getting “deleted” and turning into black space. To the savvy user, this animation looks a little bit cheesy. But to the standard or amateur user, it could come across as convincing enough.
Finally, once all contents of the Windows folder are deleted, the entire screen goes completely blank and stays that way, just long enough for the user’s heart to stop beating for a few moments. Then, very slowly, the following message prints across the screen.
After a few more keystrokes, the application closes and the user returns to their normal screen. This is also delivered in the form of a simple executable. If you can’t get your friends or family to run it from an email, you can always install it in the Startup folder on the computer of an unsuspecting friend of family member.

2 finger window scroll guide........

“Wow! How did you do that?”, my friend asked me with amazement, when he looked at how I scroll up and down the webpage using my two fingers. “Can my laptop do that?” he asked. He was a bit disappointed when I explained that as far as I know, the feature is Mac-specific because Apple owns the patent to that multi-touch technology.
But my friend’s question made me think. Is it really Mac specific? So I did some searching and found an unexpected answer. It turns out that some of the latest non-Mac laptops have similar features built in, and as for the older ones – as long as they use a Synaptic touchpad, you can easily add two finger scrolling using a little help from a little application called, well, Two-Finger-Scroll.
Using the Two Finger Scroll
The latest version of this tiny little app – version 1.0.6 – can be downloaded in the blink of an eye because its size is only around 290KB.

The Two Finger Scroll app could work out of the box without the need to install it. But before running it, you would want to move it to the “Program Files” folder and keep it safe there. If you run it and move the app later, you have to redo the settings one more time.
After you open the app, it will quietly reside in the taskbar on the bottom right of the screen and you can use it as is. However, there are several adjustments that you can do to have a better two finger scrolling experience.

Right-click the hand icon on the taskbar and choose “Settings” from the pop-up menu. This menu is also the place that you have to go to deactivate two finger scrolling without closing the app.

The first is the General setting. Check the “Start with Windows” box to make sure that the feature is always available after every system restart. I personally think that this option is important because to me using Windows comfortably is equal with a constant system restart at least once a day.

The next setting is the Scrolling. Even though there are several options that you can choose, I didn’t notice any significant differences between different combinations. Checking and unchecking the “Acceleration” box did not change anything either. The one that really determines user experience is the speed. After several trials, I settled with the minimum speed (the speed mark is far to the left).

To know more about the differences between “Scroll mode” options, click the “Help” link under the options. The developer also promises a circular scroll type for future versions.
The last setting is the Tapping. You can activate two finger and three finger tapping. All you have to do is choose which mouse button click to imitate when you do those tapping. The available choices are: left button, middle button, right button, button 4 and button 5.
I couldn’t find out what “One + one finger” and “Two + one finger” means, and experimenting on different taps didn’t give me any results either. So I disabled those two and went with “Two fingers” and “Three fingers” instead. I also left the “Minimal finger movement distance” setting alone.

Two Scroll Or Not Two Scroll

Compared to the common trackpad-side scrolling used by most non-Mac laptops, I feel that the two finger scroll is more comfortable. But maybe that’s just me.
After looking at the possibilities, I hope that the developer will make other trackpad gestures – like pinching, swiping and rotating – available in this useful application.

Reference : Saheeh Muslim Book 041, Number 7035 ‏حدثني ‏ ‏هارون بن عبد الله ‏ ‏حدثنا ‏ ‏حجاج بن محمد ‏ ‏قال قال ‏ ‏ابن جريج ‏ ‏حدثني ‏ ‏أبو الزبير ‏ ‏أنه سمع ‏ ‏جابر بن عبد الله ‏ ‏يقول أخبرتني ‏ ‏أم شريك ‏ ‏أنها سمعت النبي ‏ ‏صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ ‏يقول ‏ ‏ليفرن الناس من ‏ ‏الدجال ‏ ‏في الجبال قالت ‏ ‏أم شريك ‏ ‏يا رسول الله فأين ‏ ‏العرب ‏يومئذ قال هم قليل صحيح مسلم When Umm e Shuraik asked " Where would be the Arabs on that day?" that means that Why the Arabs wont fight Dajjal" Now if the Arabs are Very few to fight Dajjal (the Jewish King) then which Nation among Muslims will make the Majority of the Army of Mahdi Now let us take Help of Quran and Hadith to search for that luck armyQuran tells us about the two divsions among the Progeny of Prophet Isaaq (alayhay salam) سُوۡرَةُ الصَّافات
وَبَـٰرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسۡحَـٰقَ‌ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحۡسِنٌ۬ وَظَالِمٌ۬ لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ مُبِينٌ۬ (١١٣)اور ہم نے ان پر اور اسحاق پر برکتیں نازل کی تھیں۔ اور ان دونوں کی اولاد میں سے نیکوکار بھی ہیں اور اپنے آپ پر صریح ظلم کرنے والے (یعنی گنہگار) بھی ہیں (۱۱۳)We blessed him and Ishâq (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. (37:113) سورة الاٴعرَافوَقَطَّعۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أُمَمً۬ا‌ۖ مِّنۡهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ وَمِنۡہُمۡ دُونَ ذَٲلِكَ‌ۖ١٦٨اورہم نے انہیں ملک میں مختلف جماعتوں میں متفرق کر دیا بعضے ان میں سے نیک ہیں اور بعضے اور طرح کے١٦٨ And we divided them on earth in different tribes. Some of them are PIOUS (Muslims) and some are from the others(NON MUSLIMS) (128 Surah Al Araaf)This clearly shows that family of Prophet Isaaq (alayhay salam) or the Family of His Son Prophet Israel is divided in two groups both in his life and afterwards (since Quran is for all times till the end of time and not only for the time of Prophet Isaaq(alayhay salam)).1-Mulim Bani Ishaq or Bani Israel (Bani Israel also means Bani Ishaq since Isaaq is father of Israel)2-Non Muslim Bani Ishaq (i.e the Jews which make only 2 out of 12 tribes of Bani Isreal / Isaaq)Now Hadith tells about the Same mentioned Muslim Bani Ishaq in Saheeh Muslim about their fight against Dajall's armyDear Prophet Muhammad (salallaho alayhay wa alay he sallam)clearly described an Army of Muslims having large number of Muslims i.e 70 thousand men(in Ahadith the word 70 refers to a large majority) from Bani Isaaq that will stand against Dajjal (Exact words in Saheeh Muslim also written below).Authentic ahadith further tells that this Army will come from the East & that Imam Mahdi will be wearing clothes like Bani Israel (Bani Isaaq)"..................He would be wearing two Qutwani Cloaks.He will appear exactly as the person from Bani Israeel.He will rule for 20 years and will conquer the cities of the Mushrikeen(Idolaters) (Ref: Kanz-ul-Aamal, Page 268, Hadith No 3868).When you hear the news of Black Flags coming from the East, then, you must join them even if you have to crawl over ice(to reach them) ( Hadith Ref : Saheeh Trimdi)We see that even the clothes of Imam Mahdi are like that of Muslim Bani Isaaq showing clearly that Imam Mahdi will be living among them. Reference :Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir al-zaman, p.59Note: After reading the following ahadith Some people (who are victims of illusions of DAJJAL) consider the Jewish sponsered TALIBAN or the Al Qaeda as the Army of Mahdi which is totally wrong since both these are American CIA sponsored afflictions made to do the massive killing of the people of these areas.NINE SIGNS OF ARMY OF IMAM MAHDI and PROPHET JESUS (Alayhay salam) PROOF OF 1ST SIGN MADHI’S FORCES WILL ALSO COME FROM EAST(Like some of the the Dajjal also and that’s one of the illusions ) 1. Adbullah bin Haris (R.A) reported that Dear Propet(salallaho alayhay wa sallam) said, InSome people will come out from the EAST who will make Caliphate(Islamic rule) easy for Imam Mahdi.*1 *1*Reference Ibn-e-Majah 4088
The following authentic Ahadith proves that 1)the Arabs will Attack the Army of Mahdi coming from the East,2)the Arabs will be the first to attack Imam Mahdi in the Holy Mosque (Baitul Haram),3)the Aarabs will not help the Army of Mahdi from the East and therefore Army of Mahdi will fight witht the Arabs.2. Thawban (R.A) reported that Dear Propet(salallaho alayhay wa sallam) said, “ In your old age three men will be killed . Each of them will be the son of a Khalifah. Then the black banners will come out of the east, *1 and they will slaughter you in a way that no Nation has ever done before.Then Dear Prophet(salallaho alayhay wa alay he sallam) said soemthing that I didn’t remember.Then again Dear Prophet(salallaho alayhay wa alay he sallam) said if you see him give him your allegiance, even if you have to crawl over ice, because he is the Khalifah of Allah, the Mahdi.*2 2 Reference Ibne Majah Page 300, Also in Ahmad's Musnad, al-Haakim's Mustadrak and others.).
The following hadith number 2 further explains why the army with BLACK FLAGS FROM THE EAST will Kill the Arabs. It tells us that the custodians of the Holy Mosques will attack them first and stop them from entering the holy Mosques. Also mentioned in Quran at 2:1143. Narrated by Hazrat Abu Huraira(radi Allah Anho) from Hazrat Abu Qatada:Dear Prophet (Salallaho alayahy wa sallam) said: People will be given allegiance (Beyat) to person (i.e Mahdi) between the Ruken(Hajr-e-Aswad) and Mukam(Mukam-e-Ebraheem) and no one else but the same people who are related to that place(citizens of Makkah) will destroy the respect of Kabah(as they will attack Mahdi in Kabah where fighting is forbidden) and when they will declare it Halal then do not ask about the killing of the ARABS(there will be a mass killing of arabs).Then Ethopians(Africans) will come and they will desolate it in such a way that it would never be a habitat and these will be the people who will take out its treasure.*3 *3 Refernce :Masnad Imam Ahmad 35/15. Also Mustadrik J5 Page 456.
4. Narrated by Hazrat Abdullah Bin Masood(raddi Allah anho) that Dear Propher (salallaho alayhay wa sallam) said: A Nation will come from the East with Black Flags and they will ask for some “Khair” (because of them being needy) but the people will not give them,then,they will fight and win over those people(who didn’t give them what they asked).Now the people will give them what they asked for but they will not accept it untill they will hand it over to a person from my progeny who will fill this earth with Justice just as it was previoulsy filled with opression and tyranny .So if anyone of you find this Nation( i. e from the East with black flags) then you must joing them even if you have to crawl over ice.*4*4 Reference Al-Asha-ah الآﺸﺍﻋﺔ Page 240.
5. Dear Prophet(Salallaho alayhay wa alay he wa sallam) said that from the East once the Childern of Abbas will come out with black flags and will stay as long Allah subhanahu wa ta-ala wills and then small black flags will appear who will fight with the off spring of Abu Sufyan and their partners and they will obey (Imam )Mahdi Reference: Al-Hawi 69/2 6-Narrated by Thoban(radi Allah Anho) that Dear Prophet(Salallaho alayhay wa sallam) said that “Three people will fight for your Treasure. These three people will be the sons of a Caliph(a King), even then they will not get the Treasure. Then Black Flags will appear from the East and they will fight so fiercely with you as no other Nation fought with you before ( Narrator Sayyidna Thoban says) then Dear Prophet Muhammad(Salallaho alayhay wa alay he wa sallam) said something which I forgot…..In Authentic Hadith from Ibn-e-Majah these words are told as “Then the Caliph of Allah i.e Imam Mahdi will appear when you see him then pledge Allegiance to him even though you had to crawl over ice to make Allegiance with him. No doubt he is the Caliph of Allah, the Mahdi. (Reference: Mustadrik j4 P 463)
7-Narrated by Thoban(radi Allah Anho) that Dear Prophet Muhammad (Salallaho alayhay wa alay he wa sallam) (May blessing and peace from Allah be upon him) said that:" Black Flags will appear from the direction of the East and they will wage such terrible war with you as no nation has ever fought with you before. When you see them then give allegiance even if yuo have to crawl over ice to give allegiance to them because the Caliph of Allah , Mahdi is among them (Al-Asha-ah page 240)
References / Notes*1 This East is different from the NEJD and IRAQ as mentioned in other ahadith(written in the end here) telling that every Fitna (affliction) will appear from NEJD (and also in some ahadith Iraq is mentioned).
PROOF OF 2ND SIGNوَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا ‌٧-١٣٧ and the good word of your Lord was fulfilled in the children of Israel because they bore up (sufferings) patiently(137-7)MAHDI’S FORCES WILL CONSIST MAJORITY OF THE BANI-ISHAQ or BANI ISRAEL AMONG THE MUSLIM (Also only they will fight the final war with the Christians i.e The Armageddon)Allah Subhanahu Ta Ala Promised Bani Israel, before to become the inheritors of the Lands of the West and in the East. Once again this promise will be fulfilled and Bani Israel Prophet Eisa ( JESUS ) Alayhay Salam will lead Bani Israel and conquer the world insha Allahسورة الاٴعرَافوَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا ‌٧-١٣٧ and the good word of your Lord was fulfilled in the children of Israel because they bore up (sufferings) patiently(137-7)اور بنی اسرائیل کے بارے میں ان کے صبر کی وجہ سے تمہارے پروردگار کا وعدہٴ نیک پورا ہواAhadith written below further proves this
6. Abu Huraira reported Allah's Apostle (may peace he upon him) saying: You have heard about a city the one side of which is in the land and the other is in the sea (Constantinople). They said: Allall's Messenger, yes. Therer upon he said: The Last Hour would not come unlesss seventy thousand[1] persons from Bani lshaq would attack it. When they would land there, they will neither fight with weapons nor would shower arrows but would only say:" There is no god but Allah and Allah is the Greatest," that one side of it would fall. Thaur (one of the narrators) said: I think that he said: The part by the side of the ocean. Then they would say for the second time:" There is no god but Allah and Allah is the Greatest" that the second side would also fall, and they would say:" There is no god but Allah and Allah is the Greatest," that the gates would be opened for them and they would enter therein and, they would be collecting spoils of war and distributing them amongst themselves that a noise would be heard and It would be said: Verily, Dajjal has come. And thus they would leave everything there and would turn to him.* Reference Book 041, Number 6979: Saheh Muslim Note1: 70 thousand means a very large number and not 70 k exactly V Imp ONLY THE BANI ISHAAK اسحاق‎ ( CHILDERN OF PROPHET ISAAC) WILL BE LEFT IN THE END TO FIGHT DAJJALIn the above hadith 70 thousand men from Bani Ishaak are told to conquer Constantinople, now the following hadith further tells that only the Bani Ishaak is left remaining from the army of Mahdi and only Bani Ishaak will fight Dajjal along with Mahdi and Prophet Eisa (alayhay salam)1-Abu Hurayrah said,"The Prophet (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa alay he wa sallam) said, 'The Hour will not come until the Romans camp at al-A'mash or Dabeeq. An army,composed of the best people on earth at that time, will come out fromMadinah to meet them. When they have arranged themselves in ranks,the Romans will say, 'Do not stand between us and those who tookprisoners from amongst us. Let us fight with them.' The Muslims will say,'No, by Allaah, we will never stand aside from you and our brothers.'Then they will fight. One-third will runaway, and Allaah will never forgivethem. One-third will be killed, and they will be the best of martyrs inAllaah's sight. One-third, who will never be subjected to trials ortribulations, will win, and will conquer Constantinople. Whilst they aresharing out the booty, after hanging their swords on the olive-trees, Satanwill shout to them that the Dajjaal has taken their place among theirfamilies. When they come to Syria, the Dajjaal will appear, while they arepreparing for battle and drawing up the ranks. When the time for prayercomes, Jesus the son of Mary will descend and lead them in prayer.When the enemy of Allaah (i.e. the Dajjaal) sees him, he will start todissolve like salt in water, but Allaah will kill him.' " Reference: Saheeh Muslim, Kitaab al-Fitan, 8 - 175, 176.

And also the following hadith2-Yusair b. Jabir reported: Once there blew a red storm in Kufah that there came a person who had nothing to say but (these words): Abdullah b. Mas'ud, the Last Hour has come. He ('Abdullah b. Mas'ud) was sitting reclining against something, and he said: The Last Hour would not come until the people divide in- heritance and rejoice over booty, and then said pointing towards Syria, with the gesture of his hand like this: The enemy shall muster strength against Muslims and the Muslims will muster strength against them (Syrians). I said: You mean Rome? And he said: Yes, and there would be a terrible fight and the Muslims would prepare a detachment (for fighting unto death) which would not return but victorious. They will fight until night will intervene them; both the sides will return without being victorious and both will be wiped out. The Muslims will again prepare a detachment for fighting unto death so that they may not return but victorious. When it would be the fourth day, a new detachment out of the remnant of the Muslims would be prepared and Allah will decree that the enemy should be routed. And they would fight such a fight the like of which would not be seen, so much so that even if a bird were to pass their flanks, it would fall down dead before reaching the end of them. (There would be such a largescale massacre) that when counting would be done, (only) one out of a hundred men related to one another would be found alive. So what can be the joy at the spoils of such war and what inheritance would be divided! They would be in this very state that they would hear of a calamity more horrible than this. And a cry would reach them: The Dajjil has taken your place among your off- spring. They will, therefore, throw away what would be in their hands and go forward sending ten horsemen, as a scouting party. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: I know their names and the names of their forefathers and the colour of their horses. They will be best horsemen on the surface of the earth on that day or amongst the best horsemen on the surface of the earth on that day.Saheeh Muslim Book 041, Number 6927:

3-Umm Sharik reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The people would run away from the Dajjal seeking shelter in the mountains. She said: Where would be the Arabs then in that day? He said: They would be small in number.( Reference : Saheeh Muslim Book 041, Number 7035)

5- Hazrat Abu Qutada(R.A) narrated a long Hadith from Dear Prophet(salallaho alayhay wa sallam) where Umm Sharik said: Where would be the Arabs then in that day?(Meaning why the Arabs wont come forward and fight for Islam ). He(salallaho alayhay wa sallam) said: They would be small in number? And from that remaning Arabs,most of them will be in Bait-ul-Muqaddas (Sham) and their leader will be a pious man (Mahdi).When their leader will move forward to lead the Morning prayers,then,Hazrat Eisa(Alayhay salam) will descend from the sky.The leader will step back so that Hazrat Eisa(Alayhay salam) will lead the prayers but Hazrat Eisa(Alayhay salam) will put his hand on his back between his shoulders and say Move forward and lead the prayers because the Aqamah was called for you.Then the Imam will lead the prayers to all people. (Reference : Sunan Abi Majah ,307,308) IN SHORT ALL THE ABOVE MENTIONED AHADITH ARE CO RELATED SO WE NOW WE CAN WRITE THE CHAIN OF EVENTS AS BELOW: a : Muslims will fight with the Romans (Europeans or Christians) will threaten Muslim's Army to leave the war and joing them and a fight will start where only 1/3rd of the Muslim armies will be left after victory.b : The above 1/3rd victorious army will come to Sham where Prophet Jesus (Hazrat Eisa Alayhay salam) will join them.c: In sham with this 1/3rd army there will be also a Small Number of Arabs or Bani Ismael.d: A large number of army from these Muslims belonging to the Bani Ishaq will conquer Constantinople (base of Christians). After they conquer it Dajjal (Anti Christ) will come.Note : Please note that the word 70 thousand is used for the BANI ISAAQ and 70 always means a large number in Ahadith. We should note that the Arabs are told to be in a SMALL NUMBER so this number 70 thousand cannot point towards the Arabs

1- In the first hadith Note:* It strange that some people explained this hadith by saying that the word BANI ISHAQ (Childern of Ishaq) means BANI ISMAEL (Childern of Ismael). The word Bani Ismael is never ever in any of the original copies of SAHEEH MUSLIM book. * Also it can never mean Bani Ismael since the BANI ISMAEL is not living in the EAST of Arabian Peninsula as the Above 6 Authentic Ahadith tells that Mahdi's army will come from the East.* Also it can never mean Bani Ismael since the word 70 thousand stands for a LARGE NUMBER and the hadith of Saheeh Muslim tells that the ARABS WILL BE VERY LESS at that time .This hadith is given below again.Umm Sharik reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (Salallaho alayhay wa sallam) as saying: The people would run away from the Dajjal seeking shelter in the mountains. This is also meaningless since the Above 6 Authentic Ahadith tells that the Army of Mahdi will come from the EAST but the Romans live in the WestWRONG INTERPRETATION OF THE ABOVE HADITH OF SAHEEH MUSLIM ABOUT BANI ISHAQ There are three baseless explanation of the above hadith about Childern of Prophet Ishaq. I shall explain one by one.Baseless explanation No1Some people say that the word Bani Ishaq refers to the ROMANS who are actually desendants of the so called 2nd son of Prophet Ishaq i.e ESU or ISU .This baseless because of the following factsProphet Ishaq had only one son i.e Propet Israel (Yaqoob) according to Quran and HadithAccording to Quran and Hadith Prophet Ishaq had only one son i.e Prophet Yaqoob (Israel) peace be upon them. Its only in the books of jews i.e the Torah which tells that Prophet Ishaq had another son by the name of ISU and this ISU is claimed to be the ancestor of the ROMANS.This is totally baseless since the Islamic world first came to know about this theory in 1030 AD in a book compile by Abu Rifa'a al Fasawl .In this book the claim is told by Al-Tha'labi. Projectile Motion

DEFINITION:The motion of a body which is affected by only one force that is the force of gravity OR Projectile motion is the motion in which a body is given some initial velocity and then it is left to move under the force of gravity.


EXPLANATION:The only force which is acting on the projectile is the force of gravity which is the downward vertical in direction.We resolve the motion of the projectile into its components i.e the X-component and the Y-component{These components are the perpendicular to each other}.

If you see this image you will notice that the projectile starts a upward motion but then the initial velocity given to it is overcomed by the force of gravity and it starts the downward descent.The path followed by the projectile is called parabola which depends on the initial velocity or original velocity and the theta formed by the parabola with the horizontal component which is the X-axis.

There are different aspects to this motion like that of acceleration,time taken by the whole flight,Range,and the highest point reached by the projectile during its motion.There is no acceleration on the X-component because there is no force acting on the body along X-axis so we can say that according to newton’s first law when there is no force there is no acceleration and the body’s velocity will remain constant.

But gravity is acting on the Y-component so the acceleration will be equal to ‘g’ [acceleration due to gravity].Because the two components of a vector are independent of each other that is why Y-axis which is affected by gravity doesn’t affect the constant velocity of the X-axis.

Pakistan Fascist Army

War against Democracy Nations take great pride in their armed forces. Nations cherish them and protected by them. In contrast, people of Pakistan have only suffered hardships and traumas at the hands of its own armed forces. The dream of an independent Pakistan has gone sour because of all the military generals who are acting no less than like a mafia or gang at national level. Imagine a mafia “legally” consuming more than 80% of the national resources and armed to the teeth with all kinds of weapons. The country suffered a great loss in 1971 when its own Army surrendered in shame after committing one of the worst human right crimes in history and perpetrating the holocaust of three million people who were the citizens of Pakistan. That was just the beginning. In the last six decades Pakistan Army has transformed into an organized crime syndicate and a business mafia that occupies the country it proclaims to defend. This criminal organization is the biggest stake holder and stock holder in every big business of Pakistan by virtue of the power it has. Pakistan military has the biggest share in Pakistan's stock exchange. It operates commercial bank, airline, steel, cement, telecom, petroleum and energy, education, sports, health care and even chains of grocery shops and bakeries. In short, the military’s monopoly is present in every sector of Pakistan economy. To the contrary, its performance at the professional level is zero. Instead of defending Pakistan, it has undermined the very foundations of this country. Particularly, under General Musharraf, it has bankrupted Pakistan of its ideological grounds for existence. Instead of defending its physical borders, the army that is being ranked as the seventh biggest army in the world has only brought embarrassment to the nation in the battle fields of Kargil and Dhaka. On top of that, since 2001, it has started acting like occupation force in many parts of the country. Bombing homes, mosques and schools has become a routine. Although the military permanently remained very active behind the political scene, the criminal Generals of Pakistan betrayed the nation four times by breaking their oath and constitution and overthrowing civilian governments. They over threw elected government and captured the power to fulfill their evil desires and to protect the interests of their imperialist masters. The Pakistani Army has played an evil role in mainstream politics throughout the history with the objective to manipulate everything to their advantage. Even though Pakistan is a republic, the military Generals have ruled the country more than public representatives. It is because of these Generals that a people’s government could not take root in Pakistan. The Generals of Pakistan consider themselves above every law and they take pride in disobeying orders from civilian government. It has been their practice since 1947. General Douglas Gracey, the first commander-in-chief of Pakistan Army started this tradition by disobeying orders from founder and Governor General of Pakistan, Mr. Jinnah during the first Kashmir War. Instead, Gracey sought instructions by telephone from his superior, Field Marshal Sir Claude Auchinleck, in New Delhi. Since then it has been a rule in Pakistan Army to break their oath and to take orders from outside. From Gracey to Musharraf, every last one of them used power to sabotage political process that could lead to self-rule and stability of the country. They have been serving their outsider masters instead of defending the physical and ideological borders of Pakistan. Pakistan came into being in August 1947 but partition plan of India had been announced in June 1947. British divided national resources between two newly formed states. British army had been divided and according to this division six armored, eight artillery and eight infantry regiments formed Pakistan's army. Division of armed forces was according to demographic division of states and 4000 officers and 15,000 soldiers, 2332 Air Force personnel and 74 air crafts were given to Pakistan that was approximately 36% of total resources. General Douglas Gracey was acting Commander-in-Chief of Pakistan Army and Field Marshal Sir Claude Auchinleck, was still Commander-in-Chief of the armies of both India and Pakistan. Soon after the independence, US started investing in Pakistan Army to prepare an agent in South Asia to thwart Soviet ambitions and use Pakistan like a South Asian Israel. US backed every criminal act of Army Generals to crush people’s rule in the country. Since the inception, this army has been serving as a tool in Washington’s strategic planning for the region. The US granted $400 million to establish and strengthen Pakistan’s armed forces initially. The US needed a terrorist arm in the region to play its strategic game against the Soviet Union. For this purpose, Washington backed successive dictatorships in Pakistan, and also throw them out of power when they outlived their utility. Indo-Pakistan War of 1947 The first war between India and Pakistan began in October 1947 and ended in December 1948. At that time, both Pakistan and India were trying diplomatic process for the merger of Jammu and Kashmir. To sabotage diplomatic process, Pakistan Army played a cowardice game. Pakistan Army prepared armed tribesmen to infiltrate into Kashmir and upraise anarchy. This act of cowardice led to signing an instrument of accession with India in October 1947. Pakistan Army then joined infiltrators and a war broke out. Initially Pakistani Army fought with armed forces of Kashmir and they gained significant successes. Maharajah of Kashmir thus requested Indian government for help and Indian government deployed its forces in November 1947. So far Pakistani forces had been facing resistance only from Kashmiri forces. That enabled them to enter far into Kashmir. After the deployment of India forces, Pakistan Army and Army-backed tribesman faced fierce resistance. Though Indian Army was facing serious logistic problems, it thwarted the advancement of Pakistan Army. Indian Army suffered setbacks due to logistic problems and also that it was not prepared for a war just two months after partition, especially for a high altitude combat. Whereas Pakistan Army had planned and conducted this operation with the help of tribesman of NWFP, who were able to face extreme weather and mountain range. Still Indian army had been successful in regaining most of the area. In 1948, United Nation entered into conflict and broke a ceasefire in January 1949. The cease- fire agreement formalized the military status quo, leaving about 30 percent of Kashmir under Pakistani control. Apparently it was a major success but in reality, it brought such a disaster to the Kashmir cause that it can still be witnessed. Pakistan lost 70 percent of the Kashmir territory in the process. This created reluctance and hatred among Kashmiris for Pakistan and Pro-Indian Kashmiri political parties gained significant strength in Kashmir. First Coup Pakistan's first democratic elections were scheduled in 1958. But a democratic government and a strong parliament was not in the interest of US foreign policy. General Mohammed Ayub Khan, the commander-in-chief, took over the government in a coup and cancelled the elections that were a threat for military’s blind power. Ayub Khan imposed Martial Law in the country and seized constitution. Under Ayub Khan rule, Pakistan became a US garrison state in South Asia. During this period, US granted $630 million directly and $670 million indirectly to purchase military equipment. US also paid salary of General Ayub Khan. General Ayub Khan, with the support of US, made every effort to thwart peoples’ self-rule in the country. He used every dictatorial method to shut voices against his brutal attacks on democratic process. In this period, Ms. Fatima Jinnah, sister of the Founder of Pakistan, who was at that time most respected woman in Pakistan, raised voice against military dictatorship and criminal acts of the Generals. Ayub Khan and his companions played their dirty games to defame this respected lady. War of 1965 During Ayub period, Pakistan army planned an operation against India after a green signal from Washington. Operation Giberaltar was planned to infiltrate and start rebellion in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistani soldiers trained guerillas for infiltrating into Kashmir and starting an insurgency among local Kashmiris. This plan failed as locals did not respond as expected by the puppet military of Pakistan. Infiltrators were soon exposed and it resulted in a counterattack by Indian forces. After the shameful failure of Operation Giberaltar, the coward army planned another Operation, called Grand Slam, to cover-up its embarrassment. The plan was to capture Akhnur, a north-eastern town of Jammu that was a key region for communication between Kashmir and the rest of India. This however resulted in more problems for Pakistan as India countered by crossing the international border further south in Punjab. As a result, a large scale war started between the two neighbors. The war lasted five weeks, resulting in thousands of casualties on both sides and ended in a United Nations (UN) mandated ceasefire. The war remained largely inconclusive despite Pakistan suffering relatively more losses. Though the war was indecisive, Pakistan suffered much heavier material and personnel casualties compared to India. Many war historians believe that had the war continued, with growing losses and decreasing supplies, Pakistan would have been eventually defeated. The Pakistani Army's failures was apparent right from the beginning as Pakistan Army had expectations that local Kashmiri will support insurgency started by Pakistani soldiers. But the people of Kashmir, for whatever reason, did not revolt against Indian government. On the contrary they provided Indian army with information about Pakistani intruders. Under the influence of controlled propaganda, many Pakistanis rated the performance of military positively and September 6 is celebrated as 'Defence Day' in Pakistan in commemoration of the successful defense of Sailkot against the Indian army. However facts are not always based upon emotions. This war left a lot to desire as Pakistan lost more ground than gained and more importantly Pakistan army did not achieve what was planned. War also imposed a huge burden on Pakistan's economy. It took a sever decline after witnessing some progress earlier. The war also created a tense state of affairs between the two neighbors and both countries increased their defense budgets. Pakistan's spending on defense reached its height as Pakistan was spending 70% of its budget on defense needs in 1973. This extra burden brought negative impact on Pakistan's social and economic progress. Another negative consequence of the war was the growing resentment against the Pakistani government in East Pakistan. Bengali leaders accused the government for not providing adequate security for East Pakistan during the war even though large sums of money were taken from the east to finance the war. Yehya Khan After the war, Genral Ayub Khan handed over the power to General Yehya Khan violating the constitution instead of holding general elections. General Yehya Khan was a butcher in his nature and because of his incompetence Pakistan faced the greatest loss in its history. After the 1965 war, a strong resistance against military dictatorship and exploitation of Bengalis had started and Yehya Khan used his dictatorial method to solve political problems. Under the orders of Yehya Khan, Pakistan army acted in fascist ways against it won people and committed worst crimes in East Pakistan. To control the voices of protestors, the fascist army performed genocide on its own land. With American Support and military aid, Pakistan Army butchered three million Bengalis and raped Bengali women in 1971 only because Bengali leaders were asking for provincial autonomy and an end to exploitation of the people of East Pakistan. That is the Army way to handle political problems. That is the policy of every dictator to slaughter everyone who dares to speak against dictatorship. Every dictatorship in the world practices the same policy. But Pakistan Army is unique in this matter that Pakistani soldiers killed their own people. They did not spare anyone. They massacred innocent unarmed citizens in colleges, schools, roads and even in mosques. Atrocities by Pakistani soldiers in East Pakistan shocked the world and conscientious people from around the world condemned crimes of Pakistan Army. Genocide in East Pakistan and human rights crimes led to another war with India in 1971. As a consequence of this war and atrocities of Pakistani soldiers, Pakistan had to loose a large part of its territory which became an independent state, called Bangladesh today. War of 1971 To control the protests against exploitation and dictatorship in East Pakistan, in March 1971, Pakistani Army started a planned genocide in East Pakistan called 'Operation Searchlight' to curb Bengali nationalist movement. This operation ended in December 1971 and resulted in deaths of three million Bengali people. Indian Government at this time expressed full support for the people of East Pakistan. America was providing full support and military aid to fascist Pakistani soldiers. Indian government launched a successful diplomatic campaign against Pakistani military's crime on a grand scale. To cover their embarrassment in international forums, Pakistan's military rulers launched an offensive air strikes on north-western Indian border. However, the Indians had anticipated such a move and the raid was not successful. The Indian Air Force launched a counter-attack and quickly achieved air superiority. Pakistan Army counter-attacked India in the West in an attempt to capture territory which might have been used to bargain for territory they expected to lose in the east. The land battle in the West was crucial for any hope of preserving a united Pakistan. The Indian Army quickly responded to the Pakistan Army's movements in the west and made some initial gains, including capturing around 5,500 sq miles of Pakistan territory. At sea, the Indian Navy proved its superiority by the success of Operation Trident, the name given to the attack on Karachi's port. It also resulted in the destruction of 2 destroyers and one minesweeper, and was followed by the successful Operation Python. In every field, Pakistan Army faced heavy losses. The war ended in a crushing defeat for Pakistan military in just a fortnight. Pakistan's general Niazi, who was titled as 'Tiger Niazi' for killing innocent un-armed civilians appealed for a cease-fire and surrendered in extremely shameful manner. As a result, East Pakistan became Bangladesh. Pakistan lost a half of its navy, a quarter of it Air-Force and a third of its army. India captured 93000 Pakistani soldiers as prisoners of war. India wanted to put them on trials for their war crimes in East Pakistan but eventually released them as a gesture of reconciliation. After this shameful defeat, General Yehya Khan resigned and handed over power to Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, an elected leader and thus democracy started being restored eventually. It was against the Interest of foreign policy of US, who had spent a huge amount in Pakistan Army. Bhutto's policies were leaning towards Soviet Union while US has established a fascist terrorist arm in the form of Pakistan Army. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto remained in power from 1971 to 1977. Zia-ul-Haq In July 1977 the military, led by General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, staged a coup. Zia removed Bhutto from power, held him in detention and later persecuted and hanged him. Zia pledged that new elections would be held in 90 days. He kept postponing the elections and eventually took all power in his hand. He ruled the country for 11 years that is the longest period in Pakistan's history till date. General Zia imposed Martial Law in 1977 and assumed the post of president in 1978. He secured his position by a rigged referendum in 1984 and in 1985 he eased Martial Law and announced non-partisan election. Zia handpicked a dummy Prime Minister to show the world that he is restoring democracy. Muhammad Khan Junejo who could not breath without the General’s permission was sacked in 1988. Zia’s period is not only longest but darkest too as during this time, historical places were turned into prisons for those who raised voice against military dictatorship and it became a routine to arrest, punish and persecute intellectuals who dared to speak. This period was full of brutality, suppression and fear. A number of intellectuals fled from Pakistan and many were sent to specially set up torture cells. He imposed his policies in the name of Islamization to get support from religious schools. This Islamization was directly imported from Washington and was based on violence for serving American interest in the name of Islam and Jihad in Afghanistan. Results of his Islamization are clearer after nine years. General Zia was an actual employee of US. After holding the power, he started a proxy war on the orders from his US masters against Soviet Union. He proved himself as the most reliable instrument for his imperialist masters. In his period, Pakistan was flooded with military aids from US. Zia was performing as a middleman between US and tribesman of Afghanistan who were fighting against Soviet Union. General Zia did everything to serve his Washington-based masters from training of Afghan fighters to sending Pakistanis to Afghan war. In his period, religious schools became training camps for militants. Whole country was flooded with arms and ammunitions and it resulted in a continuous state of violence in the country that is present to date. Zia's rule witnessed heightened tensions with neighboring states. He was instrumental in providing military assistance to Mujahideen fighting in Afghanistan against Soviet Occupation and then later diverting them to the Kashmir cause in the late 1980s. During his time as President, Zia was also accused several times by Indian premier Indira Gandhi (and later Rajiv Gandhi) of training Sikh insurgents and sending them to destabilize India. Under the orders from Washington, Zia provided logistic support to Afghan Mujahedeen and opened Pakistani borders for Afghanistan. A great number of refugees fled into Pakistan and the country faced a huge burden on its economy. Zia’s era is also remembered as the golden age for drug trafficking. This period was also golden for criminals as all sorts of arms and ammunition became easily available throughout the country. Zia’s greed for more and more power led him to introduce theocratic laws without the broader context and without fulfilling other basic requirements for implementing those lasws. It was a show to win support in the name of Islam. He imposed total censorship on media and he introduced a controversial Hudood Ordinance to win support from religious fundamentalist groups. Human rights Organizations have been criticising the implementation of this law and they accuse that this law has been being abused to suppress half of the population of Pakistan. This infamous ordinance was introduced to control adultery but in itself this ordinance protected rapists. Under this ordinance many rape-victims were arrested and sent to prison because they could not produce witness to meet the standard of this ordinance. Zia also banned women from participating in sports activities. With continuous support of the US, General Zia became the most powerful and cruel ruler of the country. He declared Pakistani constitution as a 'rag of paper'. The person who polluted the soil of Pakistan with drugs, arms and corruption died in an air crash in 1988. Officially his death remains a mystery as no one dares to point a finger towards the actual mastermind behind the plot. General Zia also militarized the bureaucracy systematically. By the order of his government, 5% of all new posts in the higher civil service were to be filled by army officers who, consequently, occupied important civilian positions. Successive democratically elected governments did not rescind this order due to the power wielded by Pakistan Army. Under Pakistan's current military government, militarizing the bureaucracy is again pursued. Fragile Democracy After the death of General Zia-ul-Haq, Ghulam Ishaq Khan became caretaker president of Pakistan and he held elections in the country to restore democracy. Benazir Bhutto, daughter of Zufiqar Ali Bhuto, former Prime Minister who was persecuted by Zia-ul-Haq won with heavy majority and her victory proved how much hatred Zia-ul-Haq had earned. Military supported president Ghulam Ishaq Khan dissolved National Assembly just after twenty months and forced new elections. In fact fascist military Generals could not tolerate the popularity of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who was still alive in the hearts of people of Pakistan even after an 11 years long period of suppression. In upcoming elections of 1990, Nawaz Shareef became Prime Minister. Elections of 1990 were fully controlled by Military and Nawaz Shareef was actually a hand-picked Prime Minister. But Nawaz Shareef soon demanded for restoration for real democracy that could never be tolerated by Generals. Nawaz Shareef's started standing against Army mafia. However, Ghulam Ishaq Khan was still president of Pakistan and was acting as a front-man of the military Generals. He removed Nawaz and dissolved National Assembly. In the 1993 elections, the Generals did not have any dummy to appoint and Benazir Bhutto won with a heavy majority again. This time Benazir came in office with more power and she removed Ghulam Ishaq Khan from office. In 1996 she was removed from office again on the charges of corruption and bad governance. This time again Nawaz Shareef who had become a national level leader by now won with such a huge majority and popularity that the Generals felt threatened. Nawaz Shareef had now understood politics of the fascist Generals and he wanted to control their games. Nawaz Shareef had been doing his best to restore democracy in the country and in his second tenure he secured extreme popularity in the country. He was the second leader in Pakistan who became so popular in a short period after Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Nawaz Shareef proved himself a sensible leader and he did not give any chance to US to support Pakistan Military to destabilize democracy. Kargil War In 1999, Generals played another nasty game to weaken democracy in the country. At this time Nawaz Shareef was working for the peace with Indian Government which could jeopardize the status quo which the military wanted to maintain. The Generals found it a golden opportunity and launched a plan to infiltrate Kashmir. They started an operation in Kargil with the help of some fundamentalist militant organizations. The situation was embarrassing for Nawaz Shareef. He came under pressure from the whole world especially from the USA. In furious state, Nawaz Shareef used his constitutional power and dismissed General Parvez Musharraf who was the mastermind behind Kargil operation. Kargil war started after military operation code named Operation Badar in 1999. In the beginning Pakistan Army supported intruders and provided logistic support. As a result, they captured Indian Positions at a time when Indian forces had left positions due to cold weather. Due to extreme weather, it was a common practice in both militaries to leave such positions in winter and re-occupy them in spring. Pakistani paramilitary forces took control of Indian positions but Indian forces responded and forced them back to the line of control. Pakistan Military tried to capture Kargil posts with the help of intruders but Indian forces responded with mobilization of 20,000 troops to the line of control. Indian troops soon secured most of their territories and India also launched a diplomatic campaigned on international level that had been successful and this rogue misadventure by a fascist Army brought embarrassment to the nation. International Media titled Pakistan Army as 'The Rogue Army' for its coward act. Pakistan has been criticized for the criminal activities of its Military and “international community” forced Pakistan to withdraw its troops from Kargil. Pakistan faced the loss of approximately 4000 troops and extreme damage to the morale of Military. As a result of this fascist act of violating the Line of Control by Pakistan Army, Pakistan faced the possibility of isolation and Pakistan's economy tumbled. Image of Pakistan shattered in international community. The ongoing peace process with India stopped. Prime Minister who was under pressure from international community tried to constitute a committee to investigate. Nawaz Shareef wanted to bring Parvez Musharaf under charge for such irresponsible action. Tension between Prime Minister and Army chief arose on the issue of investigation. the Army chief, according to the traditions of Generals, started acting arrogantly. Army Chief, who was responsible for the loss, was afraid of investigations and under such fears he started ignoring constitutional orders from Prime Minister. He challenged the writ of democratic government and as a result, Nawaz Shareef issued the orders of dismissal of Army Chief to maintain the writ of parliament. General Pervez Musharraf As it had been the policy of Fascist Generals to never perform their constitutional duty and accept orders from Federal Government, General Musharraf refused to accept orders and captured the capital in a military coup in 1999. Generals once again murdered the democracy. General Musharraf arrested the elected Prime Minister and later exiled him. Musharraf charged Nawaz Shareef with accusations of corruption and bad governance. Such charges of corruptions and bad governance always had been a lame excuse for military coups. Politicians all over the world are charged with such accusations but they do not solve such problems with military coups. It is only Pakistan's fascist army that uses its power to destabilize democracy and over-throw civilian government. It is evident that generals of Pakistan are more corrupt than politicians. Their only problem is that they cannot let democracy be strengthened. General Parvez Musharraf hijacked power and illegally held the office of president. of Pakistan. He followed the footsteps of his predecessor General Zia-ul-Haq and used every dictatorial method to sabotage democratic process in the country. He used every brutal tactic to control voices of protest. He crossed every limit in serving his US master in order to remain in power. He is the first dictator of Pakistan who follows every command from Washington keeping aside national integrity. General Parvez Musharraf started Military operation in his own land to control protests against his dictatorship and repeated the story of East Pakistan. Pakistan Army started brutal operations in Waziristan and Balochistan to control the people who are demanding their basic rights. General Musharraf recently killed a nationalist leader from Balochistan, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti who had been a strong voice against Military dictatorship and the due rights of his people. Conditions in Balochistan are being worsened and the exploited people are feeling insecure and frightened. Under the Musharraf rule, the whole country has become a cantonment. Military is dominating the life in Pakistan. Fascist Army has captured every civil institution including schools, universities, factories, hospitals, public offices and public utility services. Pakistan Army has grabbed a large area of state owned land and it is being allotted to Military officers. They are looting all resources of the nation. Musharraf government is also selling profitable national assets at throw-away prices and getting huge kickbacks. Such corruption cases have been exposed before the Supreme Court but Musharraf is misusing his power and using every dictatorial method to control protests against his corruptions. People of Pakistan are under a continuous state of fear under Musharraf rule. People are afraid to speak as they have seen how Military rulers killed Nawab Bugti for raising voice against dictatorship. Even international media is silent because Musharraf is being supported by his Washington based masters. Price for the fascist acts of Generals is being paid by common Pakistanis who are suffering poverty and humility. General Mushararf, following the footsteps of his predecessor generals, forced censorship on media. Government banned websites and newspaper in Balochistan who were reporting the atrocities of Pakistan Army in Balochistan. At some occasions, the government also blocked a reputable news resource 'South Asia tribune' that published the reports of corruption of Generals. They have also blocked some other websites that publish reports on military operation in Balochistan. Many journalists and activists were kidnapped by agencies and a large number of citizens have disappeared in the past few years. Reporters Sans Frontiers, International Organization of journalists ranked Pakistan as No. 12 in world’s most restricted press in 2006 because of Musharraf’s continuous attacks on the freedom of press. More recently Pakistan Army raided a religious school in NWFP, killing more than 83 students, accusing them of terrorism. Most of these students were under 14 years of age and no evidence of any weapon or suspicious activity was found. Government also banned journalist to enter in the premises of bombed school. This act of Mushararf is extra-judicial murder and human rights organizations condemned Musharraf regime for such operation without investigation. International Fund for Peace declared Pakistan a failed state in 2006 because of the policies of General Musharraf. Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have condemned the criminal policies of the fascist General. Transparency International ranked his government as most corrupt in the history of Pakistan. But he is not willing to leave the office, ignoring protests going on in the country, condemnation worldwide and worsening situations of homeland security, national economy and human rights. Land of Pakistan has been suffering the rule of these ambitious and opportunist military Generals denying people their right to self-determination and dancing at the tunes from Washington and London. It is the responsibility of conscientious people from around the world to raise voice against this cruel dictatorship and show support and solidarity with the people of Pakistan who had been a victim of cruelty of its Fascist Army sine 1952.
